I’d like to add here that after you’ve decided what content you are going to have and are all set to explore various social media channels to spread the word and get a feel of what it’s all about, there is one key step you need to consider:

Developing a good site structure. 

Doing this right will not only make your content easily accessible to both your consumers and search engines, it will make your visitors stay on your site longer. The home page for example is the most linked-to page on a domain as they are the shortest URL to link to a website online.

Not going into too much detail here, the key to a good site structure is to ensure a way to get acess to all the website content with as few links as possible. A pyramid structure -with the home page on top – works best. Once you have your content and navigation sorted your basics are covered and you are well placed to take full advantage of social media.
