Firstly, you don’t need to manage everything. Some social media information will be important to your organisation and to the community you are serving and some will not. The key is to be strategic and to know all the ways your organisation is making use of social media.
To work out what social media information you do actually need, you can survey all your business areas and ask:
who is using what?why?how many social media accounts are out there?are there any rogue accounts that appear official but which are really the views of one guy sitting up on level 2?is there any account governance?
